HIGH SCHOOL MATH COURSES
Algebra 1
This course lays the foundation for all future mathematics. Algebra is the most fundamental and most life-applicable of the pure mathematics courses. Students will learn to create and solve equations, calculate interest, prepare graphs and charts, and use numbers to answer everyday questions.
Prerequisite: Pre-algebra GeometryThis course explores the design and structure of the world. Students will learn to use shapes to solve everyday problems. They will also be introduced to the nature of logic and systematic thinking. Students will complete geometrical proofs as a method of training the mind in logical progression.

Algebra 2
This course reinforces central concepts from Algebra 1, visiting topics in greater detail. Algebra 2 provides students with the necessary skills to pursue higher mathematics. This gateway course will prepare students for later studies in trigonometry and physics. Students will also learn advanced problem solving techniques and essential statistics.
Prerequisite: Algebra 1
Prerequisite: Algebra 1
Trigonometry
This course is an in-depth study of shapes and structural analysis. Students will learn discover advanced mathematical relationships, alternatives to the Cartesian coordinate system, as well as sequences and series. Trigonometry is essential for students interested in studying advanced mathematics, architecture, or engineering.
Prerequisite: Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Geometry
Prerequisite: Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Geometry
Calculus
This course emphasizes modeling and uses a variety of technologies to enhance the modeling process. Students will leave class with confidence in their skills and a greater understanding of how calculus is used to model real-world situations. This course will cover topics such as Functions, Limits, Rates of Change, Differentiation, and Logarithmic Functions.
Consumer Math
This course covers concepts such as buying, insuring, and maintaining a car; social security tax; creating and balancing a budget; renting a home; buying food and clothing; tax forms; and affording leisure time. The model problems and practice exercises of this course will help students to understand the value of money and how to use it wisely.
