WATERBROOK CHRISTIAN ACADEMY
WCA is a private Christian school in Davison, Michigan educating preschool through tenth grade. WCA began in 2007 as an elementary school, but has added a grade every year since and will continue to do so as we add the 11th grade in the fall of 2012 and the 12th grade in 2013.
The mission of WCA is to provide an exceptional education in a Christ-centered environment by preparing our students through personal faith, experience and academic achievement to effectively serve God's kingdom.
We are not affiliated with any single denomination, rather, we have the support of several area churches; and for that support we are deeply grateful. Together . . . we are the body of Christ.

Name Change . . .
WCA was founded in 2007 as Cornerstone Christian Academy. In the spring of 2010, the school board changed the name for two reasons: 1) Cornerstone is a very common name for churches and schools, and the school board wanted a name that would not be confused with other organizations. 2) The name Waterbrook was chosen as it reflects our desire to pursue God and instill that longing into our students. The name Waterbrook is taken from Psalm 42:1 "As the hart pants after the water brook, so pants my soul after Thee, O, God."
This is truly our desire as it reflects our mission statement to educate our students in a Christ-centered environment. WCA operates under the direction and leadership of the Waterbrook Christian Academy Board of Education whose founding members are as follows: President: Gary West - Mr. West served on the Mt. Morris School Board of Education for over 20 years with several of those years as president. He is currently the director of transportation for the Genesee Intermediate School District (GISD). Secretary: Karen Aiello - Mrs. Aiello has been teaching elementary education in the Mt. Morris School District for over 10 years. She currently serves as the Chair of the WCA Curriculum Committee and Grant Committee. Director: Sammi Justice - Mrs. Justice currently serves as the Chair of the WCA Marketing Committee. Director: Dawn Beaty - Mrs. Beaty serves as the Chair of the Prayer Committee. Director: Dean Bowen - Mr. Bowen has been involved in education for over 16 years and is the current administrator of WCA. |
